~ Where surgical precision meets fighter grit.
From the first time he stepped onto a wrestling mat in high school, Dr. Lucius “Luke” Pomerantz knew two things: he loved the fight and he loved the challenge. That drive carried him from amateur boxing rings and MMA cages to earning his black belt under Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legends Dean Lister and Jeff Glover.
But his toughest battles were not only in the gym—they were in the operating room. Dr. Pomerantz earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College, graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha honors, then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at UC San Diego, where he served as Chief Resident. He further specialized with a fellowship in hand surgery at the Campbell Clinic.
Today, Dr. Pomerantz is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and upper-extremity specialist at Synergy Orthopedics caring for fighters, professional athletes, and weekend warriors alike. As a team physician and a ringside doctor, he understands firsthand what’s at stake when injuries occur—and how to return athletes to performance without compromising long-term health.
To provide a more comprehensive approach to care, he also became board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine, integrating movement, nutrition, recovery, and injury prevention into his orthopedic practice.
